In-house talk and Q&A with the lead researchers of ‘Freud and Latin America’, Mariano Plotkin and Mariano Ruperthuz.

The Freud Museum proudly welcomes authors of ‘Estimado Dr Freud: una historia cultural del psicoanálisis en América Latina’ (2017) and the lead researchers of ‘Freud and Latin America’, Mariano Plotkin and Mariano Ruperthuz.

This event will expand upon and complement the exhibition. Acknowledging the brevity of the subject, the speakers will delve into the content that is missing from the display. This includes letters, books, newspapers, and individuals who engaged with Freud in his lifetime.

The material omitted from the exhibition shows the limits of Museum spaces, narrative constraints, and the difficulty of sourcing or transporting visual material. This event offers an opportunity to see more of the research by Plotkin and Ruperthuz, that will shed an even greater light on this vast and fascinating subject.

This event will be chaired by the exhibition’s curator, Jamie Ruers.

Tickets include a welcome drink.

Freud Museum Members and Patrons receive 20% off the standard ticket price on all events, courses, conferences and On Demand programming.

A limited number of bursary places are available for those unable to pay the full amount. Please email [email protected] to apply for a bursary.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the Freud Museum London, which receives no regular public income.
