I'm a member - how do I enter my membership discount code?

Click “Book Now” and a pop-up will appear.

You will see a link (highlighted here in orange) that says Enter promo code. Enter the code, click ‘Apply’, and your discount will appear.

When will I receive my link to join? 

You will receive your personal joining link from Zoom once you’ve registered. You will also receive a reminder 1 hour before the event begins containing that same unique link. 

Do I use the same link if my event is taking place over more than one day? 

Yes, this link should be applicable to all days of the course or conference.

What if I cannot see the email with a link in my inbox? 

The first thing to do is check your spam or junk folder. Sometimes these emails end up in there. Otherwise, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be here to help. Ideally let us know if you haven’t received it before the talk starts – we’d hate for you to miss out! 

Will I be seen when I join the event? 

No, you won’t. We only set up Webinars instead of Meetings – this means we have a little more control to help the lecturer deliver a coherent and uninterrupted talk, and your experience is much more secure. 

Why can I not hear/see the speaker during the live event? 

Few things to check – do you have headphones plugged into the audio jack preventing sound from coming out of the computer speakers? Is your device connected via bluetooth to something (e.g. bluetooth headphones or speakers)? Is your internet connection stable? If it isn’t any of those things, just close and reopen the window with the same link and it should work. 

How do I send a message to the speaker? 

Hover over your screen where you will see a Q&A button. We encourage everyone to use the Q&A button and not the chat button for all of our events. 

I cannot attend the live event in part or in full – will I receive a recording? 

Yes, all attendees will receive a link to the recording 24 hours after the event has taken place. Please be patient as it takes a little while to process, but it will definitely come to you. 

I missed out on the booking. Is there a way I can still attend? 

It won’t be possible to add anyone after the event has begun, but we will try to release the recordings of events at later dates, so you can look forward to watch the event recording in the future. You can visit our On Demand page for the chance to see past events.

I'm going to an event in the museum. What can I expect?

Firstly, you’ll need to have registered on the website beforehand for the event. Present your ticket (and your membership card, if applicable!) to the person on the door. Make sure to arrive around 10-15 minutes before the start time so that you can be seated in time.

The shop will be open throughout the evening if you’d like to pop in before or afterwards.

*Please note that most of our events take place upstairs (around 20 steps) and unfortunately the museum does not have wheelchair access at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
