- This event has passed.
Addiction is on the rise in the time of pandemic. We see perhaps the return of the repressed – as our usual distractions are out of reach and issues that may have been kept at bay are brought into consciousness.
As such, “Addiction” is changing its parameters, and is no longer the exclusive preserve of the chronic alcoholic or junkie – and the ubiquitous screen, now so often a necessity of life in lockdown, has brought with it a click culture that craves instant gratification as an anaesthetic for an increasingly anxious and unpredictable world.
We talk to clinicians from different treatment strata to share their experiences, personal and professional – and to see if the usual suspects of attachment, desire and distraction can be explored more deeply when viewed through a psychoanalytic lens and from a psychodynamic perspective.
A recording of the conference will be made available to all attendees immediately after the event.
Certificates of Attendance available on request.
