Weekly Tours – A Cura Pela Palavra

Às voltas, com o desafio de entender as histéricas do final do século XIX, Freud introduz um novo método de tratamento para as neuroses baseado na cura pela palavra.

Este tour  pretende abordar a função do divã no setting analítico e também, o percurso clínico de Freud, desde os primórdios da Psicanálise, através da hipnose até chegar a regra fundamental da Associação Livre.

Facing the challenge of understanding hysteria at the end of the 19^th Century, Freud introduced a new method of treating neurosis based on what became known as ‘The Talking Cure’.

This tour will discuss the origin of The Talking Cure, as well as describing the role of the couch in the analytical setting. The tour will trace Freud’s clinical pathway, from the use of hypnosis at the beginning of Psychoanalysis, to the development of the golden rule of Free Association.
