A modern-day Renaissance man, his elegant writing is simultaneously scholarly and literary and brings a light touch to profound material.

Professor Brett Kahr is Honorary Director of Research at the Freud Museum London and Series Editor of the “Freud Museum London Series”. His many books include Life Lessons from Freud, Coffee with Freud, and Freud’s Pandemics: Surviving Global War, Spanish Flu, and the Nazis.

Michael Brearly is a Psychoanalyst and Author. He was President of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and Chair of its Section for the Application of psychoanalysis. He has written The Art of Captaincy (1985), On Form (2017), On Cricket (2018) and Spirit of Cricket (2020). A memoir, Turning over the Pebbles is about to be published (2023).

Kate Pearce has worked in publishing for over two decades. She started her publishing career at Karnac Books before joining Taylor & Francis as a production editor. She soon moved into T&F’s International Sales department for a role that combined her twin passions of travel and socialising. She returned to Karnac Books some years later to run their production department and also sit on their editorial board. A founder of Phoenix Publishing House, her aim is to fire minds through a diverse and accessible list of publications to bring psychoanalytic thought to the wider world.

Nishat Akhtar is Vice President, Creative Design, Instrument, USA, where she has worked across brand, marketing, and product design. A designer at heart, she pushes the discipline beyond the expected to create modern and accessible experiences that delight and produce impact. Nishat has played a pivotal role in partnerships with both Nike and Google, and has long been valued as a creative partner and visionary by clients. Outside of Instrument, Nishat takes joy as a design educator, and as an artist and illustrator whose work has been featured in the New York Times, the ACLU, and many more.
