To celebrate the publication of “Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Shadow of the Parent“, the Freud Museum warmly invites you to an afternoon event with artist and great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, Jane McAdam Freud.

This event will begin with an illustrated talk by the artist discussing her contribution to the book: the chapter “Paddle your own canoe – Negotiating the Shadow”, touching on identity, success in one’s own right and taking on the Freud mantle. Images showing her sculpture will reflect the conscious and unconscious idea of ‘the shadow’, with Jane’s works also “speaking” of freedom and a sense of liberation.

Her presentation is followed by a discussion with the writer Sylvia Paskin.

Tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested donation of £10. Thank you in advance for your support of the museum at this very difficult time.

All ticket holder receive the recording automatically 24 hours after the close of the event and have access for 30 days.
