Join art therapists Melanie Stevenson and Cate Smail of Art Therapy4all CIC for an experiential session of art-making, exploring the fascinating art therapy process and offering a deeper understanding of how it can bring the unconscious to the conscious mind. Art Therapy is a non-verbal approach to psychotherapy and does not require any artistic skills. Participants should not be concerned about making perfect artwork, the aim is self-expression using a range of art media.

The session will consist of guided art therapy exercises, exploration of the imagery made and group discussion.

The format will be as follows:

  • Introductions
  • A short overview of Art Therapy
  • Setting boundaries
  • Confidentiality
  • Warm up exercise
  • Art making exercises
  • Group discussion
  • End

Please note: You will not undergo any form of psychoanalysis. The session is not designed to be a substitute for individual or group therapy with a qualified professional. If you have any queries before joining the workshop, you can contact Melanie Stevenson: [email protected]

Ticket includes entry to the Museum.
