Freud’s 4 pm Session: Therapy with Antigone – Myth, Choice and Destiny

Join author, poet and thinker, Ginger F. Zaimis, as she shares some philosophical suggestions and presents her world premiere reading /talk with a live stream entitled, Therapy with Antigone: Myth, Choice and Destiny. The talk speaks through the eternal now and intersections of mythology and philosophy in poetic verse imbued with key Freudian themes. Thus, suggesting we can heal the ontological feminine and Human condition archetypes while expanding cultural collective consciousness of the psyche with Sophocles’ daughter of Humanity, Antigone as presented in her newest book, Antigone the Heroic Crown.

Ginger F. Zaimis (G.F. Zaimis) is an American poet, polymath, thinker, editor, literary translator and adviser who specializes in architectural and perennial forms. Ginger’s vision and grammatology explore the intersections of contemporary modernisms and comparative literature, blur the minimal to monumental, abstract to literal while reuniting the Arts, Humanities and Sciences as one. She is the architect of two NEW poetic forms (ie. the Portico and Triptych) and PEN America’s Finalist for Best First Poetry Collection 2015. In addition to Antigone the Heroic Crown, she has also published philosophical translations on the Pre-Socratics, the Hippocratium, Aristophanes’ Frogs, and Stoicism including Cleanthes’ Hymn to Zeus composed in Sestina and Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations as a work-in-progress entitled, Speaking Stoic: Unto Myself, an English verse translation from the Ancient Greek. Her work has been presented at international centers for contemporary art, biennials, museums, universities, institutes, world libraries and the Centre for Greek Philosophy, The Athens Academy to name a few. She is a Keats-Shelley Rome key-note, a lecturing fellow of the classics and Board of Director at Fordham University London, as well as, a Southerner, Emeritus New Yorker, Philhellene and consciously conscious preservationist of our planet who lives in-situ to some of Humanity’s Classical prototypes of architecture, philosophy and democracy in the Athenian capitol. Unfortunately the Freud Museum does not have step-free access at this time. Advance booking is highly recommended as capacity is limited.
