Behind the Scenes at Maresfield Gardens

This tour will be given by our Operations Manager, Daniel Bento, the son of Anna Freud’s trusted house custodian Alexandre Bento (1948-2014).

Exploring the engrossing history of No. 20 Maresfield Gardens – Sigmund and Anna’s “last address on this planet”, Daniel will guide us around the areas of the building which are not normally open to the public, including Sigmund Freud’s secret art deco lift and the terrace and loggia designed for him by his architect son, Ernst Freud.
