A new President and new Trustees

Lord Freud has been appointed as President of the Freud Museum London.
He is Sigmund Freud’s great grandson, a former journalist, banker and government minister. He is also President of Volunteering Matters, and set up its innovative Grandmentors programme.

Lord Freud is the first President to be appointed by the Museum, and says: “I have been a visitor to 20 Maresfield Gardens since I was a child in the 1950s. So I am thrilled to become the President of the museum in this familiar house which commemorates my great grandfather and great aunt. I look forward to working with the trustees and team to ensure the museum continues to thrive.”

Museum Director Carol Seigel adds: “We are delighted to have Lord Freud on board. He is a long term supporter of the Museum who brings a depth of experience to the new role of President, and it is particularly special that he is a member of the Freud family”.

Three new Trustees Anne Biggs, Paul Chilton and Stephen Kon have also been appointed. Each brings valuable specialist skills to the Board. Full details of all trustees can be found here.

Steven Fogel has stepped down as the Board’s Legal Adviser. To thank him for his invaluable advice over many years, he has been appointed an Honorary Fellow.

We are delighted to welcome our President and new members to the Board of Trustees of the Freud Museum London. Our new colleagues bring a wealth of experience at a critical moment in the Museum’s history, and we look forward to working together.
