About the film: Orlando (1992) dir. Sally Potter
Length: 93 min
Enjoy Sally Potter’s adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s gender-bending epic narrative ‘Orlando’ at the Freud Museum.
Starring Tilda Swinton as the titular character, Orlando begins as a young nobleman at the court of Elizabeth I, played by Quentin Crisp, and is entrusted with a stately property on the condition they “do not grow old.” We then proceed to follow Orlando through the following centuries of British history, as well as their sudden change of gender and the new way they are forced to live.
