2014.1, Jade and gold brooch, unknown

Culture: Chinese
Material: Gold and jade
Dimensions: 10 cm

Oriental jade and gold brooch, with two jade rings and a gold dragon detail fixed with gold pin.  This was a gift from Sigmund Freud to his daughter Anna. Unlike most of Anna's everyday jewellery collection, this was an antiquity in itself and, as far as we know, was not worn by Anna as a regular piece of jewellery.  Today it is displayed in Sigmund Freud's study in the museum.
