Círculo dos Amigos Brasileiros: Conexões Psicanalíticas entre o Brasil e o Legado de Freud
É com enorme entusiasmo que apresentamos uma iniciativa especial que celebra a significativa conexão entre a psicanálise brasileira e o legado de Freud: a criação do Círculo dos Amigos Brasileiros do Museu Freud em Londres. Idealizada por Giuseppe Albano, diretor do Museu, e organizado por Ana Spieler, coordenadora do Programa em Língua Portuguesa do Museu Freud, esta iniciativa visa expandir e aprofundar as trocas culturais e psicanalíticas entre o Brasil e o museu, fortalecendo os laços por meio de eventos, encontros e projetos que refletem a vitalidade dessa relação.
Um Histórico de Contribuições Brasileiras
Diretor Giuseppe Albano, Francisco da Silva ( chefe de instalações), Antonio Quinet ( psicanalista e dramaturgo), Juliana Teixeira ( atriz), Daniel Bento ( gerente de operações) e Túlio Fernandes (técnico de som e vídeo).
A ligação do Brasil com o Museu Freud remonta a momentos memoráveis. Em 2013, o renomado psicanalista e dramaturgo brasileiro Antônio Quinet apresentou, no consultório de Freud em Londres, uma performance inovadora sobre a narrativa da análise de Freud com a poetisa e escritora Hilda Doolittle . O sucesso contínuo das apresentações o trouxe de volta em 2015, e mais recentemente, em 2024, reafirmando a relevância de sua prática de unir a Psicanálise e Arte.
Ao longo desse período, o Gerente de Operações do Museu, Daniel Bento, e o Chefe de Instalações, Francisco da Silva, desempenharam um papel fundamental no fortalecimento das relações com visitantes e parceiros de língua portuguesa e brasileira, garantindo o sucesso das produções teatrais de Antônio Quinet no Museu.
A apresentação de 2024 de Hilda e Freud no Museu Freud contou com a presença do Embaixador do Brasil, Antônio de Aguiar Patriota, e sua família, bem como da Adida Cultural Ana Flávia Jacintho Bonzanini.
Um detalhe curioso é que Freud trouxe para Londres, em 1938, parte significativa de sua biblioteca pessoal, que incluía mais de 60 textos vindos da América Latina, sendo a maioria do Brasil. Embora Freud tenha admitido nunca dominar o português, esses textos testemunham o alcance teoria psicanalítica na região.
A exposição sobre Freud na América Latina, realizada entre janeiro e setembro de 2024, apresentou dois quadros do artista pernambucano João Borges.
Ainda em 2024, sob a curadoria de Jamie Ruers, o Museu Freud apresentou uma exposição especial dedicada à psicanálise na América Latina. A mostra explorou como a região incorporou e desenvolveu a prática analítica, além de examinar o impacto de Freud na cultura, sociedade e na arte latino-americana. Com materiais traduzidos para português e espanhol, a exposição destacou a trajetória de pioneiros brasileiros, como Juliano Moreira, Júlio Pires Porto Carrero e Gastão Pereira, além de ressaltar o papel do Brasil como um centro contemporâneo de produção de ideias psicanalíticas. No final deste mesmo ano, o Giuseppe convidou Antonio Quinet a ser patrono do museu.
Programações em Português e Analistas Brasileiros de Destaque
A partir do final de 2023, o museu deu início a cursos de psicanálise em português, criando um espaço dedicado ao público de língua portuguesa.
Post nas nossas redes sociais da Ana Suy com seu curso “O amor na Psicanálise”.
Antonio Quinet foi o primeiro a oferecer um curso on line em português entitulado “A Descoberta do Inconsciente Teatral”, que abordou as conexões entre a psicanálise e a arte teatral. O curso despertou grande interesse e recebeu um retorno excepcional.
Desde então, o museu tem promovido cursos com renomados nomes do universo psicanalítico, como Ana Suy, com seu curso on line sobre “O Amor na Psicanálise”, e Jorge Forbes, que nos honrou com sua presença no museu oferecendo o curso “A Psicanálise é Sempre Freudiana”, sendo este último, organizado e apresentado por Ricardo Koagura, membro da equipe do museu.
E isso é só o começo: outros grandes psicanalistas, já estão confirmados como Vera Iaconelli, Rosine Perelberg, Leticia Paes e Alexandre Simões para os próximos meses, colocando assim a psicanálise brasileira em destaque no cenário europeu.
Além disso, vale lembrar que devido ao número significativo de visitantes brasileiros, o museu passa a oferecer, desde 2023, tours guiados em português, proporcionando uma experiência mais intimista para o público brasileiro.

Por que criar o Círculo dos Amigos Brasileiros?
O Círculo dos Amigos Brasileiros é mais do que um grupo: é uma comunidade de troca e interação. Queremos que cada brasileiro – seja visitante do museu, estudante, analista ou apenas curioso – sinta-se parte desse projeto, contribuindo para que a psicanálise continue a inspirar e prosperar no mundo.
Queremos aqui desde já agradecer aos psicanalistas brasileiros Ana Suy, Jorge Forbes, Rosine Perelberg e Antonio Quinet, que contribuíram de forma significativa para a criação do Círculo dos Amigos Brasileiros do Freud Museum. Suas contribuições enriqueceram o diálogo psicanalítico entre o Brasil e o museu e foram essenciais para consolidar as bases deste projeto.
Primeiro Simpósio e Programação:
Estamos especialmente animados para anunciar que o I Simpósio de Psicanálise em Português, intitulado “O Estranho Familiar – O Estrangeiro em Mim”, será realizado no dia 28 de junho de 2025, na Casa de Freud em Londres, o local onde Freud passou seu último ano de vida e trouxe consigo sua biblioteca, suas antiguidades e seu divã.
Esse simpósio contará com psicanalistas de diferentes abordagens. A programação completa e os horários serão divulgados em breve.
Às 19h, haverá a apresentação, também em português, do espetáculo teatral “Freud e o Homem dos Ratos“, pela Cia. Inconsciente em Cena, com dramaturgia, direção e atuação de Antonio Quinet, o ator psicanalista Igor Coelho, direção musical de Alexandre Marzullo e Patrícia Batitucci como assistente de direção e produção.
No dia do simpósio, a peça será apresentada em português, mas haverá outras datas com apresentações em português e em inglês. Os ingressos para a peça estarão disponíveis em breve em nosso site.
Após o espetáculo, os espectadores presentes estão convidados para um brinde de confraternização nos jardins da casa do criador da psicanálise.

It is with great enthusiasm that we present a special initiative celebrating the profound connection between Brazilian psychoanalysis and Freud’s legacy: the creation of the Brazilian Friends Circle of the Freud Museum in London. Conceived by Giuseppe Albano, the Museum’s director, and organized by Ana Spieler, coordinator of the Freud Museum’s Portuguese Language Program, this initiative aims to expand and deepen cultural and psychoanalytic exchanges between Brazil and the museum, strengthening ties through events, gatherings, and projects that reflect the vitality of this relationship.
A History of Brazilian Contributions
Director Giuseppe Albano, Francisco da Silva (Head of Installations), Antonio Quinet (psychoanalyst and playwright), Juliana Teixeira (actress), Daniel Bento (Operations Manager), and Túlio Fernandes (Sound and Video Technician).
Brazil’s connection with the Freud Museum goes back to memorable moments. In 2013, renowned Brazilian psychoanalyst and playwright Antônio Quinet presented an innovative performance in Freud’s London study, narrating Freud’s analysis of poet and writer Hilda Doolittle. The continued success of these performances brought him back in 2015 and, more recently, in 2024, reaffirming the relevance of his practice of merging Psychoanalysis and Art.
During this period, the Museum’s Operations Manager, Daniel Bento, and Head of Installations, Francisco da Silva, played a fundamental role in strengthening relationships with Portuguese- and Brazilian-speaking visitors and partners, ensuring the success of Antonio Quinet’s theatrical productions at the Museum.
The 2024 presentation of Hilda and Freud at the Freud Museum was attended by the Brazilian Ambassador, Antônio de Aguiar Patriota, and his family, as well as Cultural Attaché Ana Flávia Jacintho Bonzanini.
A curious detail is that when Freud moved to London in 1938, he brought a significant part of his personal library, which included more than 60 texts from Latin America, most of them from Brazil. Also in 2024, under the curation of Jamie Ruers, the Freud Museum presented a special exhibition dedicated to psychoanalysis in Latin America. The exhibition explored how the region embraced and developed psychoanalytic practice while examining Freud’s impact on Latin American culture, society, and art. With materials translated into Portuguese and Spanish, the exhibition highlighted the contributions of pioneering Brazilian figures such as Juliano Moreira, Júlio Pires Porto Carrero, and Gastão Pereira, as well as Brazil’s role as a contemporary center for the production of psychoanalytic thought. At the end of the same year, Giuseppe invited Antonio Quinet to become a patron of the museum.
Portuguese-Language Programs and Notable Brazilian Analysts
Since late 2023, the museum has been offering psychoanalysis courses in Portuguese, creating a dedicated space for Portuguese-speaking audiences.
A social media post from Ana Suy promoted her course Love in Psychoanalysis.
Antonio Quinet was the first to offer an online course in Portuguese, titled The Discovery of the Theatrical Unconscious, which explored connections between psychoanalysis and theatrical art. The course generated significant interest and received exceptional feedback.

Since then, the museum has hosted courses featuring renowned psychoanalysts, such as Ana Suy, with her online course Love in Psychoanalysis, and Jorge Forbes, who honored us with his presence at the museum by offering the course Psychoanalysis Is Always Freudian. The latter was organized and presented by Ricardo Koagura, a member of the museum team.
And this is just the beginning: other major psychoanalysts, including Vera Iaconelli, Rosine Perelberg, Leticia Paes, and Alexandre Simões, are already confirmed for the coming months, further highlighting Brazilian psychoanalysis on the European stage.
Moreover, given the significant number of Brazilian visitors, the museum has been offering guided tours in Portuguese since 2023, providing a more intimate experience for Brazilian audiences.
Why Create the Brazilian Friends Circle?

The Brazilian Friends Circle is more than just a group—it is a community of exchange and interaction. We want every Brazilian—whether a museum visitor, student, analyst, or simply a curious individual—to feel part of this project, contributing to the continued inspiration and growth of psychoanalysis worldwide.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Brazilian psychoanalysts Ana Suy, Jorge Forbes, Rosine Perelberg, and Antonio Quinet, who have played a significant role in the creation of the Brazilian Friends Circle at the Freud Museum. Their contributions have enriched the psychoanalytic dialogue between Brazil and the museum and were essential in laying the foundation for this project.
First Symposium and Program Schedule
We are especially excited to announce that the First Symposium on Psychoanalysis in Portuguese, titled The Uncanny Familiar – The Foreigner Within Me, will take place on June 28, 2025, at Freud’s House in London—the very place where Freud spent his final year, bringing with him his library, antiques, and iconic couch.
This symposium will feature psychoanalysts from different theoretical backgrounds. The full program and schedule will be announced soon.
At 7:00 PM, there will be a Portuguese-language theatrical performance of Freud and the Rat Man, presented by the Inconsciente em Cena theater company, with dramaturgy, direction, and acting by Antonio Quinet, actor-psychoanalyst Igor Coelho, musical direction by Alexandre Marzullo, and Patrícia Batitucci as assistant director and producer.
On the day of the symposium, the play will be performed in Portuguese, but additional performances will be scheduled in both Portuguese and English. Tickets for the play will be available soon on our website.
After the performance, attendees are invited to a celebratory toast in the gardens of the home of the founder of psychoanalysis.
