Freud and Psychoanalysis: Ask Any Question

Do you or one of your students have a question about Freud or psychoanalysis?

The Freud Museum is launching a new blog series called Ask Any Question.

Students can ask our Education Team any question about Freud or psychoanalysis and we will do our best to answer them.

Teachers can also send us questions on students’ behalf.

No question is too silly!

  • Did Freud want to marry his mother?
  • Is there any scientific evidence for Freud’s theories?
  • What did Freud eat for breakfast?
  • Why isn’t there a ‘visual’ stage of psychosexual development?

Questions about psychoanalysis can be answered in more than one way because there is always more than one way of looking at mental phenomena. Sometimes the strangest questions can lead to the most interesting answers!

We hope the series will be of interest to A Level Psychology students, but we welcome questions from anyone  looking at Freud in class for the first time.

Please note that we cannot respond to requests for therapeutic advice.

A visit to the Freud Museum can help your students sort Freud-fact from Freud-fiction.

Facilitated group visits are a great way to get a deeper insight into Sigmund Freud, Anna Freud and psychoanalysis.

The Freud Museum is very popular with A-level groups, particularly those studying psychology or religious studies.
