In 1996 Freud's Diary of 1929-1939 was published by Stroemfeld, a Frankfurt publisher specializing in high quality works of scholarship, facsimile manuscript editions and albums. We were fortunate in having a translator and collaborator who is also a leading specialist in the history of psychoanalysis. The result is a luxury edition that is accurate and visually attractive. Also the author has incorporated a number of revisions of the original edition, based on new research. Stroemfeld has also improved the work by offering a chart of the Freud family tree to accompany it, thus assisting the reader in disentangling the numerous relatives mentioned.
