Volunteering at the Freud Museum London

The Museum is delighted to be supported by a large team of volunteers, most of whom come in one day a week (ideally for a minimum of 6 months) and focus on one area, for example collections, events, front of house and so on.

In order that volunteering is as well structured and mutually beneficial as possible, we only recruit when we are seeking support in a specific area.  We do this by advertising the role and then conducting informal interviews.  The successful candidate receives an induction and any necessary training.

You will find current volunteer opportunities below. Do check here regularly for new roles or email, Marion Hill, to sign up for the Volunteer Alert and receive this information directly into your inbox.

Benefits of Volunteering
You will be part of small, dedicated team through whom you will able to learn how the independent museum sector operates and gain valuable experience.  We offer an induction, training for your role if required, free entry to museum events and conferences, reduced rates on our evening courses, off peak travel expenses within Greater London and a written reference (following a minimum of 150 hours).

We are currently seeking a bright outgoing person, ideally with retail experience to join our busy shop team on Tuesdays. Find out more and apply below:
